In Shifu Cloud, devices serve as the foundational elements of the IoT development platform, facilitating the collection, processing, and transmission of data to create a cohesive and responsive IoT system. These devices enable real-time data acquisition from various sources, providing the necessary inputs for analysis and decision-making. Developers can deploy devices to monitor environmental conditions, control operations, and automate processes in your workspace. By exposing these devices as specific APIs, the development of upper level applications is greatly simplified, allowing developers to interact with the devices programmatically.

After creating the workspace, there are two ways to add devices in the workspace:

1. Templates - Use pre-configured device templates to quickly add devices to the workspace.
2. Protocols - Add devices by selecting the protocol of the device you want to connect to.
